Project Title
Warning and Monitoring System for Coal Mines
Description
This project aims to create a new sensing and computing system by combining various gas-detecting sensors and image captures. The goal is to improve the safety of miners working in coal mines by identifying areas that are at a higher risk of structural hazards and accumulation of toxic gases and smoke. By doing so, the project aims to reduce the number of fatal accidents that occur in the mining industry. The monitoring system will generate a warning when a mining hazard is detected, such as toxic concentrations of poisonous gases or a high risk of roof fall.
